HSBC Arena (old Rio Arena)
Av. Embaixador Abelardo Bueno, Barra de Tijuca. This arena inaugurated for the 2007 Pan American Games is located quite far from Zona Sul. In order to get here you can either take a cab or catch bus 175 from one of the beach avenues in Copacabana, Ipanema, Botafogo or Flamengo. You jump off on Av. Ayrton Senna.

R. dos Arcos 24, Lapa map, tel 2220-5070. Located just by the arches this venue has many big shows and events as well as cultural activities like a circus school.

Circo Voador
R. dos Arcos, Lapa map, tel 2533-0354. Reopened in 2006 this classic venue where you get really good Brazilian and foreign bands and artists performing.

Vivo Rio
Av. Infante Dom Henrique 85, Parque do Flamengo map. This arena has lately become home of many bigger shows. Located close to the Moderna Art Museum.
